Teaching is a natural part of my life, I have been teaching for twenty-five years. This is my ninth year here at Gattis, and I am ready to learn from my parents, students, and staff. I am still growing as a teacher because I feel I am a student as well. I attended training in the summer and know from what I learned your child will succeed. I have taught in both the public and private schools in Houston and that knowledge I also still use here at Gattis. I have taught K-4 during my teaching career, and love teaching fourth grade due to the fact writing is a passion of mine. I have found the more I can challenge them to look as writing as not a fear, but something which is exciting to do then the more they stop to fear it. I was not a student who loved to read and write in school, but I know I can bring the love of learning to your child. However, throughout my life as a learner, I discovered the love of reading and writing. I want to make sure all my second graders understand that really second grade is my favorite grade. My goal and wish is to give you back your second grade child at the end of the year with a love for school and a joy to read and write. I hope to become a team with you and your child in hopes to reach their full potential.
Mission For The Class
My goal for all students who walk through my class that first day is to feel
a sense of pride for their class, school, and teacher. I want them to want
to come to school and be excited about our class. We all can learn through
the success of sharing. I strive to reach my goals and I want each child to
embrace school in hopes to reach for the stars.
